Composition of Hangul and studying Hangul.

The structure of Hangul

Hangul is a so-called phoneme character, and letters representing consonants and vowels are made separately. However, unlike common phonemes such as Roman letters, it is unique that consonants and vowels are combined and used in syllable units. In this respect, it can be said that it has some similar characteristics to syllable characters.

Today's Korean spelling is based on the Korean spelling unification plan enacted by the Korean Language Society in 1933. It was partially revised in 1988, but its basic characteristics remain the same. Hangul is composed of consonant letters and vowel letters. Hangul is a phonetic character, but it has the characteristic of collecting and writing in syllables.

For example, the word "honeybee" is not written as "ㅜㄹㅂㅂ'" but as "honeybee". A syllable as a letter is divided into three positions: initial consonants, neutral consonants, and final consonants. 19 consonant letters are used in the initial consonants. Of the 19, ''' has no sound. For example, in "milk", "woo" and "y" of "yu" only play a role of filling the seats silently. Twenty-one vowel letters are used for neutralization. 16 single support letters and 11 double support letters are used for the support.
