클레임: COVID-19 백신은 인간 숙주를 감염시킬 수 있는 하이드라 종을 포함하고 있다.

백신을 주저하는 것이 공중 보건 문제로 남아 있는 가운데, COVID-19 백신에 하이드라라고 불리는 생물이 들어 있다는 주장이 소셜 미디어에 퍼지기 시작했다.

이 이론은 온라인 비디오에서 "캐리 마데즈 박사"로 묘사된 한 사람이 COVID-19 백신의 표본에서 히드라 같은 물체나 유기체를 관찰했다고 주장한 것과 관련이 있는 것으로 보인다. 그 비디오는 현미경으로 유기체와 다른 물체를 묘사하는 것으로 알려진 이미지를 보여준다.

그 주장은 그 하이드라가 불멸이며 인체에 감염될 수 있다는 것을 암시한다. 히드라 속어 종은 많은 게시물에서 이름이 지어진다.

10월 16일 이후 3,500개 이상의 호평을 받은 한 인스타그램 밈은 "HI MY NAMI Is HYDRA VOLGIS I'M I'M I MIN THE PAING"이라며 "만약 당신이 계속해서 부스터를 복용한다면, 이것은 당신의 내면의 새로운 친구가 될 것"이라고 글을 자막으로 게재했다. 

 

그러나 전문가들은 이것이 말도 안 된다고 말한다. COVID-19 백신은 하이드라를 포함하고 있지 않다. 또한 해파리와 관련된 하이드라가 인체를 감염시킬 수도 없다. 

USA TODAY는 소셜 미디어 사용자들에게 의견을 개진했다.

존스홉킨스 건강보장 센터의 감염병 전문가 겸 선임 학자 아메쉬 아달자 박사는 "이는 날조"라고 말했다.  "COVID-19 백신에는 하이드라가 존재한다는 증거가 없다." 

화이자, 모더나, 얀센 백신의 성분들은 FDA 웹사이트에서 확인할 수 있다. 그들은 히드라나 다른 살아있는 유기체를 포함하지 않는다. 

"화이저비오Keanna Gazvini 화이자 대변인은 USA TODAY에서 "NTech COVID-19 백신에는 바이러스 입자나 살아있는 성분이 들어 있지 않다"고 말했다.

모더나와 존슨앤드존슨은 즉각 논평 요청을 회답하지 않았다.

카디프 대학의 통역면역학 교수인 마티아스 에벌은 로이터 통신과의 인터뷰에서 마데즈가 증거로 제시한 현미경 이미지는 "확실한 오염"이라고 말했다.

에벌은 로이터 통신과의 인터뷰에서 "그것들은 직물 섬유, 면 섬유, 집먼지 같은 것 같다"고 말했다. 현미경이나 커버 슬라이드를 깨끗하게 유지하지 않으면 이렇게 보일 겁니다."

하이드라는 인간의 병원체가 아니다. 

크기가 1인치 정도까지 자랄 수 있는 히드라 로코티스는 호수와 연못에 사는 것에 적응한다. 이 생물들은 관 모양의 몸을 수중 물체에 부착하고 먹이를 낚아채기 위해 일련의 얇은 촉수를 사용한다. 그들은 작은 유충과 갑각류를 먹고 산다.

아달자는 "하이드라 베로니스가 사람에게 생산적인 감염을 일으킬 수 있다는 증거는 없다"고 말했다. "그것은 단지 인간의 병원체가 아니다."

이 동물들은 몸의 모든 세포를 자주 재생시키는 능력 등 장수를 지탱하는 듯한 독특한 생물학적 특성 때문에 노화 연구의 대상이다.  

그러나 일부 소셜미디어 게시물에서 이들을 묘사할 때 사용된 '불륜성'이라는 단어는 오해를 불러일으킬 수 있다.

하이드라 라이프팬을 연구해온 오웬 존스 남덴마크대 부교수는 USA TODAY에 이메일을 통해 "노화 연구에서는 '불멸'이라는 용어가 일반적인 용어와 다른 의미를 갖는다"고 말했다. "그 생물이 영원히 산다는 뜻은 아니다." 

세포 메커니즘이 완전히 이해되지는 않았지만, 히드라 로코티스는 대부분의 유기체들이 그렇게 하는 것처럼 나이가 들면서 악화되지 않는 것처럼 보이기 때문에 주목할 만하다. 하지만, 그 유기체들은 다른 원인에 의해 죽을 수도 있고 죽을 수도 있다.

존스에 따르면, 수분이 장기간 지속되는 노화 실험에서는 포식자가 없는 고도로 통제된 실험실 환경에서 수분이 이상적인 식량을 공급하고 온도와 염도 체계를 갖추고 있다고 한다. 

존스는 "실제로 이 동물들의 자연 수명은 포식자들에게 둘러싸여 있고 어려운 환경 조건을 경험할 것이기 때문에 매우 짧다"고 말했다.

야생에서 히드라 로코티스는 몇 주 또는 몇 달 동안 살지도 모른다.

존스는 "하이드라는 백신이나 인체 내부에서도 생존할 수 없다"고 말했다. "미친 생각이야."

While vaccine hesitancy remains an ongoing public health issue, claims have begun circulating on social media that the COVID-19 vaccine contains living creatures called hydras – small, tentacled, freshwater animals.

The theory appears related to claims made in an online video by a person described as “Dr. Carrie Madej” who says she observed hydra-like objects or organisms in samples of a COVID-19 vaccine. The video shows images purportedly depicting the organisms and other objects under a microscope.

Versionsof the claim suggest that the hydras are immortal and can infect the human body. The Hydra vulgaris species is named in many of the posts.

“HI MY NAME IS HYDRA VULGARIS I’M IN THE VACCINE,” reads one Instagram meme that has received more than 3,500 likes since Oct. 16. “If you continue to take boosters, this will be your new friend inside of you,” the post was captioned.

But experts say this is nonsense. The COVID-19 vaccine does not contain hydras. Nor can hydras, related to jellyfish, infect human bodies. 

USA TODAYreached out to the social media users for comment.

“This is a hoax,” said Dr. Amesh Adalja, an infectious disease expert and senior scholar at the Johns Hopkins Center for Health Security.  “There is no evidence of hydras existing in any of the COVID-19 vaccines." 

 

He also said it is unlikely that any organism could survive the sterilization processes used during vaccine manufacturing. 

The ingredients in the Pfizer, Moderna and Janssen vaccines can be found on the FDA website. They do not include the hydra or any other living organism. 

“The Pfizer-BioNTech COVID-19 vaccine ... does not contain any virus particles or living components,” Keanna Ghazvini, a spokesperson for Pfizer, told USA TODAY in an email.

Matthias Eberl, professor of translational immunology at the University of Cardiff, told Reuters the microscope images presented as proof by Madej are "definite contamination."

“They look like things like fabric fibers, cotton fibers or house dust," Eberl told Reuters. If you don’t keep your microscope or cover slides clean, this is what it’ll look like.”

Hydras are not a human pathogen 

Hydra vulgaris, which can grow to about an inch in size, is adapted to living in lakes and ponds. The creatures attach their tubular bodies to underwater objects and use an array of thin tentacles to snatch their prey. They feed on small larvae and crustaceans.

“There is no evidence that Hydra vulgaris can cause a productive infection in a human,” said Adalja. “It is just not a pathogen of humans."

The animals are the subject of aging research due to unique biological characteristics that seem to support long lifespans, such as their ability to frequently renew all of the cells in their bodies.  

However, the word “immortality” used to describe them in some social media posts can be misleading.

“In the study of aging, the term 'immortal' has a different meaning than in common usage,” Owen Jones, an associate professor at the University of Southern Denmark who has studied hydra lifespans, told USA TODAY in an email. “It does NOT mean that the creature lives forever.” 

 

While the cellular mechanisms aren't fully understood, Hydra vulgaris is remarkable because it does not seem to deteriorate with age the way most organisms do. However, the organisms can and do die from other causes.

In aging experiments where hydras persist for long periods of time, they are kept in highly controlled laboratory settings absent predators and with ideal food supplies and temperature and salinity regimes, according to Jones. 

“In reality, the natural life span of these animals is very short because they are surrounded by predators and will experience difficult environmental conditions,” said Jones.

In the wild, Hydra vulgaris might live for a few weeks or months, not years.

“Hydras could not survive in a vaccine, nor inside the human body,” Jones said. “It’s a nutty idea.”

Based on our research, we rate FALSE the claim that the COVID-19 vaccine contains a hydra species that can infect a human host. There are no hydras included in the vaccine ingredients. Further, a hydra could not survive inside the vaccine or a human body.

가짜든 아니든 판단하기전 가장 중요한것은 '코로나'라는것이 독감수준이라는것.

나이드신분들은 백신접종이 필수적이지만 면역력이 강한 젊은 계층은 '코로나'바이러스라는것이 그렇게 치사율이 높지않다는것.

 

지구상의 다양한 바이러스들이 지금껏 계속해서 새로운 바이러스들이 생성되고 우리가 느끼지 못하는 동안 지속적으로 몸안으로 들어왔다가 면역체계에 걸려 죽고 또다른 바이러스가 침투하고 또 면역체계가 이를 막고 그래오고있었는데 코로나라는 바이러스가 그리대단하면 얼마나 대단한 녀석이길래 유난을 떠는지

 

백신을 맞지말지 고민하시는분들 맞지말라고 하는게아니다. 그냥 내생각일 뿐이다.
